This whole section has been super important songs in Al’s oeuvre. This song, his second major hit, is another one that makes Al Al. It also is probably more remembered then his original to non fans because the hit it parodies is more popular then the Knack’s hit.
Recorded live on September 14th 1980 on air during the Dr. Demento show, this song is also the first time Jon Bermuda Schwartz plays drums for Al, a thing he still does today. This song is Al’s second single, both on an EP from Placebo Records, and later on a single from TK Records (where it was the last single they published).
